Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Asia Climate Summit 2025 , an invaluable opportunity to stay updated on key developments such as Article 6 and carbon credit markets. Beyond insightful sessions, these events often open doors to new connections, fresh ideas, and potential collaborations.
Turning Scope 3 Data into Action
But what made this experience even better was that the journey began with a brief family getaway to The Datai Langkawi. Consistently voted by Conde Nast as one of the top 10 resorts in Asia—an oasis of relaxation and tranquility, surrounded by a 10-million-year-old rainforest and sandy white beaches.

At The Datai, sustainability isn’t just an add-on or afterthought; it’s deeply woven into their ethos. Rather than being built on top of nature, The Datai embraces it, demonstrating what authentic environmental stewardship can look like. It was during this tranquil moment that my mission of making the invisible visible with climate action truly resonated. Leading resorts around the world, such as Soneva, Six Senses, and Borgo Egnazia in Italy, are already at the forefront of sustainable hospitality. Former Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs, who helped turn Six Senses into a global force in wellness and sustainability, recently said in an interview with Afar.com: “People aren’t looking for possessions anymore. They want meaning. They want connection. And they want to feel like they’re part of something beautiful, something purposeful.”
“Purpose and pleasure aren’t mutually exclusive—we can, and should, do both. To me, that’s what resonates, and I think people want that today”

These visionary resorts are already measuring scope 3 emissions, keeping tabs on supplier scorecards, and using heatmaps around the resorts to find ways to reduce emissions. However, most of this work is still manual and taxing, despite the availability of valuable data already captured in their POS systems such as transport, dining choices, and excursions.
Let Guests Offset Their Impact
At Carbon AI, we envision transforming this data into real-time action. Leveraging AI, we don’t just measure. We proactively recommend how guests and businesses can reduce emissions pre-, during, and post-stay through intuitive heatmaps and actionable insights.
But visibility is only the first step; meaningful climate action requires ownership. With Carbon AI, guests are empowered to offset their carbon impact by connecting directly with verified, meaningful projects. These are projects aligned with their personal values, projects they genuinely believe in. We make this process easy, intuitive, and trustworthy, providing a sense of personal fulfillment.
The Asia Climate Summit underscored an undeniable truth: climate action is about being authentic, and at times vulnerable and personal. It’s about making sustainability resonate at an emotional, actionable level. This is exactly where Carbon AI thrives. Bridging technology with humanity and turning abstract carbon footprints into personal journeys that build long-lasting brand loyalty and lifetime value for resorts.
